Little Blackwood Garden Planters

Introducing Little Blackwood Garden: Bespoke Zinc Planters Handmade in the Heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands

Born out of frustration and fuelled by a love of timeless craftsmanship, Little Blackwood Garden began with a simple idea: create a garden planter that doesn’t just survive the seasons, but ages beautifully with them.

After years of replacing cracked terracotta and ceramic pots, I decided enough was enough. There was nothing on the market that offered the durability I needed and the traditional aesthetic I loved — so I designed and manufactured my own.

Little Blackwood Garden Planters

Handmade in the Staffordshire Moorlands, each planter is crafted using high-quality mild steel and built to last a lifetime. Inspired by the classic look of traditional lead planters, our designs offer the same elegance and weighty character, but without the fragility or cost. Each one develops a lovely natural patina over time, adding charm and depth as it weathers with your garden.

No more replacing broken pots year after year. No compromises on quality, style, or sustainability. Just solid, British craftsmanship — designed to last, and built to be loved for generations.

    Little Blackwood Garden Planters

As an engineer with a sharp eye for detail and perfection, I’ve always believed that beautiful design should be built to last.

The idea for Little Blackwood Garden grew from frustration — year after year, I found myself replacing terracotta and ceramic pots that cracked, chipped, or simply didn’t stand the test of time. Nothing on the market met my standards for both quality and style. So, I set out to design and manufacture my own.

Handmade in the Staffordshire Moorlands, our zinc planters are produced in small batches with an unwavering focus on quality.

Each piece is crafted by hand using high-grade mild steel dipped in zinc, with the classic look of traditional lead planters — minus the fragility and weight. Over time, they develop a rich, natural patina that adds character and depth.

Built to withstand the elements and designed with precision, these planters won’t crack in frost or fade with age. They’re made to be enjoyed for generations — no more replacing broken pots every year. This is true small-batch craftsmanship: refined, resilient, and rooted in the belief that your garden deserves better.

    Garden Planters: The Gratton

The Gratton is individually handmade with the same care and precision as its sister planter, The Horton. Crafted from substantial steel, hot-dipped in zinc, and aged for character, it offers unmatched durability and a finish that will gently lighten over time, developing a soft, antique patina unique to each piece.

The design of The Gratton is traditional yet distinctive, with elegant proportions that catch the eye while remaining understated. Built to endure every season, this planter is made to last a lifetime and beyond, becoming a permanent feature of your garden that can be passed down through generations.

Perfect for outdoor use, each planter includes drainage holes in the base, allowing it to be planted directly into gardens, patios, or terraces.

Strong, graceful, and timeless, The Gratton is not just a planter but a statement of enduring style—designed to grow with your garden for years to come.

Each one is hot-dipped in zinc and carefully aged, creating a protective finish that will gradually lighten and develop a beautiful, natural patina over time.

Traditional in character and timeless in style, the design is simple yet striking, catching the eye without being overstated. Crafted to last a lifetime and beyond, The Horton is built to endure all seasons, with enduring craftsmanship that can be passed down for generations.

Designed for outdoor use, every planter comes with drainage holes in the base, making it ready for planting straight into the garden, patio, or terrace.
